General Information

Summer Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day):

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 am-5 pm
Tuesday and Thursday: 12-8 pm
Saturday: 9 am-5 pm

Winter Hours (Labor Day to Memorial Day):

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 am-6 pm

Come to the library in person at 100 King Street in Northumberland.

Bring a photo ID, with proof of your current address. If your address has changed and your Driver’s license or official photo ID has not yet been updated, a recent piece of mail, utility bill or such with your name and current address will suffice.

Generally books and audio books circulate for 3 weeks, unless they are still recent additions, in which case they are limited to 7 days.

Movies circulate for 7 days, unless they are sets (series) which go out for 2 weeks.

You may log on to one of our computers by checking in at the Front Desk with your valid library card.

Computer time is limited depending on number of patrons wishing to sing in. If the computer lab is full, your time will be up in 1 Hour.

Website Questions

You can search the catalog via links on the Home Page or on the Main Catalog Page.

For complete instructions on how to use the catalog to log in and view your own patron status (items checked out, due dates, etc.), please see the complete list of instructions on the Main Catalog Page. 

Also Note: Website links to our catalog search only work outside the walls of the library for now. Within the library building please use the desk top icons on each computer to search the Catalog.

You can use the links on the Home Page or on the Main Catalog Page.

To log in and see your patron account, you will need your library card number (no zeros). Use your last name as the password (it is not case sensitive).

If you have used Overdrive before and do not need instructions please use the links available on the Home Page and Adult Programs page.

If you have not used Overdrive before, you must first either call the library at 570-473-8201 or Contact Us via our email form so that we can add your library card number to the Overdrive database.

Click the link below to go to Overdrive, then:

  1. Click on the “Sign In” in the upper right hand corner of the page.
  2. Select our library from the dropdown menu and click “GO.”
  3. Enter your library card number without the zeros.
