DVD Policies in Depth
- Patrons are reminded that material contained on DVD’s may be subject to Federal Copyright Law. These items are for personal home viewing, and may not be reproduced, or shown to groups in public meeting places, halls, churches, etc. They are permitted to be shown in the library with the purchase of a Performance Site License, which we own. Patrons who ignore this caution are subject to any and all applicable sections of the U. S. code.
- DVD’s may be borrowed by any card holder ages 18 years or older, and by young adults ages 14-17 yrs. A patron must have a library card in their possession in order to check out movies.
- Young adults under the age of 17 are not permitted to check out any DVD’s or videos that are rated “R” or “NC-17”.
- Adult patrons are limited to five (5) movies per library card.
- Patrons 14 to 17 are limited to two (2) movies per library card.
- DVD’s may be borrowed for seven (7) days. They may not be renewed.
- DVD sets are counted as one (1) item. Only one (1) set is checked out to the patron at a time.
- DVD’s are subject to damage from extreme heat. Please avoid leaving them near sources of heat or in vehicles.
- Patrons are advised that the library is not responsible for any damage to patron owned equipment as a result of utilizing library owned movies.
- Newly released DVD’s may not be placed on hold for approximately the first month the library owns them.
- Patrons are responsible for any damages to the borrowed items.
- As with other library items, patron’s will be held responsible for any overdue or missing items.
